| Rules wording | Printed wording can be older | Use current Oracle, not an older wording snapshot |
| Format eligibility | Based on eligible releases and bans | Existing eligibility retained; bans still apply |
| Meld interactions | Previously in the double-faced category | Current Rule 713 separates meld from double-faced cards |

What a source printing code tells you
A reprint entry has two jobs: identify the card and identify the printing selected for this product. When a familiar name appears beside an unfamiliar code, start with that version before comparing its art or layout with another copy. The code should not be read as a price signal. For a collection spreadsheet, keep separate columns for card name, listed source code, your copy’s language, condition, and treatment. That prevents a broad “owned” marker from hiding the version you actually want to collect.
Why one gallery cannot answer every question
The product article and image gallery serve different purposes. Use the stamped checklist to look for a particular reprinted name; use the gallery to inspect the product’s new cards and special treatments. A Future Sight frame or an acorn stamp needs attention beyond a name match. For an unfamiliar copy, compare the visible frame and stamp first, then open the relevant official reference. Do not infer that an entire card family is missing merely because one browsing interface does not display it.
Reprints for a deck or a collection
For a deck, identify the underlying card and check its current rules and format status. For a collection, make the comparison more specific: which art, frame, language, and condition are acceptable? The two goals can produce different buying choices. Neither this checklist nor a source code predicts rarity in your personal box, guarantees a valuable opening, or establishes a market price. Use the card-list search and CSV for tracking, then validate an actual offer against the particular copy shown by the seller.
Track versions without losing the underlying card
Use one field for the card name and another for the printing you seek. This lets you mark a card playable in your collection while still noting that the particular stamped treatment you want has not been acquired.
Reading a Planeswalker-stamp entry
The product article identifies selected reprints by name and source printing code. The Planeswalker stamp is a product-identification feature; it does not rewrite the card’s Oracle text or provide a new deckbuilding exception. Start with the named card, then compare the source printing to understand the selected presentation. The searchable table is organized into five color sections, a wildcard section and a reprinted-commander section. Those are published booster categories, not a ranking of power or value. A card in the commander section still needs to meet the rules of the deck or event where you intend to use it.
An older frame is not an older rules engine
A reprint can reproduce an older presentation while the current Oracle reference remains the place to resolve wording questions. This distinction matters when comparing a printed copy with a modern deck checker or card database. Do not change your interpretation of an interaction solely because two printings use different phrasing. Identify the underlying card and consult its current entry. Separately, an actual rules update can change an interaction across printings. The bulletin’s movement of meld cards from Rule 712 to Rule 713 is one example: the category reference matters even if your physical card has not changed.
Reprint legality versus new-card milestones
The November 13, 2026 Commander date and January 1, 2027 Legacy, Vintage and other Eternal date apply to the new MBC cards described in the updated product article. Existing reprints keep the formats where they were already eligible, with banned lists still taking precedence. This means the product can contain cards with different answers to the same format question. When adding a reprint to a Constructed list, check the underlying card rather than waiting for the new-card milestone by default. When drafting MBC, use the Limited instructions instead of applying Constructed assumptions to the whole pool.
Check a collected copy without inventing a valuation
Use the name and source code to establish what the checklist actually confirms, then inspect the copy’s stamp, language and condition. If you want a special-frame treatment, follow the official gallery instead of assuming every version belongs in the stamped dataset. The list contains possible contents, not a promise about a particular box. A collection spreadsheet can record a desired version without assigning it a speculative price. When purchasing, compare the seller’s photographed copy with your requirements; when playing, compare the card’s current rules with your deck. These are separate checks with different evidence.
