The date to know first
November 13, 2026 is the confirmed Commander legality date for the new MBC cards. It is not the first product debut or the bundle’s on-sale date. As of October 23, this is still upcoming: Coming November 13.

Keep three entries in your calendar: buying the product, receiving it, and playing it in a particular format. The first is governed by a sale announcement, the second by your order and carrier, and the third by format rules. A rules bulletin explains changed interactions; it does not promise a shipping window. No separate local-store prerelease schedule is supplied by the cited product article, so this page leaves that milestone unannounced. For later changes, follow Wizards’ product page and your region’s order information rather than treating this editorial snapshot as live tracking. If an event lists different entry requirements, ask which format it uses before registering or bringing a deck. This also helps you avoid mixing Limited exceptions with Constructed rules.
Where to buy and what to expect
Wizards identifies major Magic events and Festival in a Box through Secret Lair as access routes. The Atlanta bundle went on sale October 19, with an announced price of $249.99 USD and a two-per-customer limit while supplies last. That announcement is a dated offer, not proof of stock today. Confirm the regional storefront, delivery address, tax and shipping terms before paying. A bundle order and attendance at MagicCon are separate decisions. Neither a purchase date nor an event ticket proves that your box will arrive by Commander legality day.

For a Commander player, November 13 is the day to apply the new cards’ announced eligibility, subject to the current banned list. Check your commander, card categories and color identity before adding cards to a Constructed deck. Existing reprints follow their previous eligibility rather than waiting for every new-card milestone. Playtest and acorn cards remain outside Constructed. MBC Limited uses its own published draft instructions. January 1, 2027 is the distinct new-card milestone for Legacy, Vintage and other Eternal formats; do not move that permission into November simply because a paper copy is already available.

Is November 13 the on-sale date?
No. The Atlanta Festival in a Box sale launched October 19. November 13 is the new-card Commander legality date and the start of MagicCon: Atlanta. A sale, an event and format eligibility can share a product without sharing one date.
When can I use new cards in Legacy or Vintage?
Wizards’ updated product article specifies January 1, 2027 for new-to-Magic MBC cards in Legacy, Vintage and other Eternal formats. Always recheck the latest format rules and banned list before an event.
